What is the Definition of Diversity?
Diversity means difference.
Equality and diversity in the workplace is about understanding and appreciating individual
and group differences, i.e., treating people as individuals. As we are all different.
The legal differences of diversity are race, disability, gender reassignment, sex,
marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, religion and belief, sexual
orientation and age.
But the not obvious differences of diversity and inequality include, values, beliefs,
personality, place of origin, accent, culture, work-style, size and language etc.
Equality and diversity in the workplace is sadly for some nothing more than visually
changing policy. However, there is a growing number of enlightened organisations
realising there are real commercial benefits of equality and diversity in the workplace,
such as improved:

- Employee Engagement
- Potential Customer Appeal
